We're looking for a mid-level engineer to join the team building our S3-compatible object Storage, purpose-built for the throughput and latency demands of AI – including GPUDirect Storage integration for direct data movement between Storage and GPU memory.
Responsibilities:
* Native filesystem-level code interfacing with our Storage backend 's C API, bridged into our Go services via CGO.
* Low-level file and metadata operations: file handles, attributes, locking, and concurrent access patterns typical of a production filesystem.
* Correctness-critical logic around partial failures and rollback – ensuring operations that fail partway through don't leave the system in an inconsistent state.
* Concurrency and locking correctness across operations that touch shared filesystem state.
* Debugging and root-causing issues using system traces and logs, tracing behavior across distributed components.

* Strong C ++ fundamentals: memory management, pointers, structs, and comfort reasoning about low-level system behavior.
* Experience with systems-level programming – anything involving file I/O, networking, or OS-level APIs is relevant, even outside Storage specifically.
* Some Go experience is a plus (our services are Go with CGO bindings into the C layer), but strong C ++ instincts matter more than prior Go exposure.
* Comfort with concurrency: locks, race conditions, deadlock avoidance.
* Careful, methodical debugging habits – this system prioritizes correctness over speed of shipping, and bugs here can mean data loss.
* Ability to read and extend existing native code rather than always designing greenfield systems.
