The opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join us as a Research Associate, Upstream Process Development within Biologics CMC, located in West Chester, PA. The successful candidate executes and interprets laboratory experiments within a team under the direction of a supervisor. The individual demonstrates an enthusiasm for learning and is open to training and mentorship with an expectation to operate independently with time. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to, the execution of mammalian cell culture and process development experiments, laboratory instrument maintenance, and administrative tasks such as inventory management.
How you’ll spend your day
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 
•    Perform routine cell culture maintenance & seed culture expansion based on study plans at various scales, including (but not limited to) shaker flasks, Ambr 250, 3, 50, 100 and 200L bioreactors. 
•    Perform equipment set-up, sterilization, daily operation, sampling, and in-process tests (cell count, viability, gases, metabolites, titer etc). 
•    Record experiment results in batch records and lab notebooks in compliance to Good Documentation Practice and perform data analysis as needed.
Additional Responsibilities / Secondary Duties: 
•    Maintain laboratory equipment, coordinate calibration, and manage raw material stocks and supplies. 
•    Maintain a compliant laboratory operation in accordance with development protocols, internal procedures, and policies. 
•    Draft technical reports when needed.
