Develop and execute EHS strategies and solutions to support a variety of work styles across various workplace settings.
Collaborate cross-functionally to provide EHS expertise to business-critical programs and initiatives.
Ensure we meet all EHS regulatory compliance requirements and industry best practices both proactively and through an audit program under your management.
Support and promote implementation of our global EHS policies and programs across the region, and augmenting them with regional and country level policies and procedures where needed for:
Injury and Illness Prevention.
Emergency Preparedness and Response.
Fire Prevention.
Ergonomics.
Laboratory Safety.
Chemical Hazard Communication.
Hazardous Materials and Waste Management.
Support our operational sustainability initiatives related to Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions, energy, and waste reduction, which includes ongoing tracking, collection and compilation of environmental data collection for sites within region.
Supporting the implementation of the corporate EHS Management System (EHSMS) within the region.
Monitor and regularly report on regional EHS performance against EHS Key Performance Indicators and objectives.
Developing and delivering customized EHS training to enhance employee awareness and adherence to EHS requirements (beyond All Employee EHS Awareness and Lab EHS Awareness computer-based trainings).
Establishing and maintaining relationships with relevant regulatory bodies and local authorities.
Manage local resources, such as external EHS consultants and specialists, as appropriate.
We are looking for a well-rounded, passionate Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHS) professional who will excel in a new role heading EHS for ourertise and support to a large team of professionals, including our country, regional and site leaders and business partners, with responsibilities for EHS legal compliance and sustainability across our regional offices. The role reports to our Global Director of EHS, based in the US, and will have a strong matrixed relationship with colleagues within the region.
Bachelors degree (e.g., Health, Safety and Environmental Management, Occupational Health and Safety). Masters degree a plus.
Certification in Health and Safety (e.g., ASP, CSP) desired.
8-10+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in high-tech industries.
Strong knowledge of applicable regional and local EHS regulations and standards.
Native language speaker. Excellent spoken and written English.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace.
Analytical mindset with the ability to assess and address risks proactively and effectively, with a sense of urgency.
Ability to travel to sites within the region (25%).
Management systems experience (ISO 14001, ISO 45001) a plus.
