The InterLab-Merck R&D center in Yavne has an opening for a Senior Scientist position in the field of cancer immunology as part of an effort to discover and develop novel cancer immuno-therapeutics and biomarkers. A strong background in immunology, cancer biology or computational analysis is required. We are looking for a meticulous, detail-oriented researcher to provide and grow expertise in translational and reverse translational research to support the development of novel cancer immunotherapies. As a senior Scientist, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, conducting and analyzing biological experiments, and will also assist in preparing complete documentation for experimental procedures. Position is for 9 months (maternal leave replacement), extension of the work term is an option.
Requirements:
Ph.D. in Biology, Bioinformatics or related field.
Knowledge and experience in research principles, concepts and practices in Immunology, cancer biology or Big Data analysis.
Experience in computational biology, e.g. performing meta-analysis of data from public databases. Programming using R or Python an advantage.
Experience in mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, Immunology, and cell biology techniques.
Creativity and innovation-oriented thinking.
Excellent inter-personal and team-working skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
