As a Network Implementation Engineer, you will support our efforts to execute deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide. In this role, you will build a reliable, cost-effective, and scalable network to support all of our current and future customers and users globally. You will work with Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, Design and Infrastructure Engineers, Field Engineers within Google, as well as construction and telecommunications vendors, all to position the team and organization.

Develop business requirement documentation based on solicitation from internal teams.
Work with development teams to implement automation requirements.
Manage and audit network equipment installations using third-party vendors or resources.
Test, troubleshoot, and commission routers, optical transport equipment, and other network devices in new and existing network nodes across Google global networks.
Generate implementation plans and provide technical leadership and guidance during deployment activities.

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
4 years of experience in telecommunications, including carrier class scale and optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer2/3 routers and data services.
Experience with fiber types and their application, physical fiber characteristics, and standard testing tools (e.g., OSA, BERT, OTDR).
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
4 years of experience in telecommunications, including carrier class scale and optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer2/3 routers and data services.
Experience with fiber types and their application, physical fiber characteristics, and standard testing tools (e.g., OSA, BERT, OTDR).
Preferred qualifications:
Experience working in a data center with OSP, ISP, AC/DC power systems, environmental controls relay rack/cabinet/cage construction.
Experience in Dense Wave-Division Multiplexing (DWDM) and Routing topology and architecture.
Knowledge of scripting/programming languages (e.g., Python, Apps Script, SQL).
Understanding of networking and fundamentals of network troubleshooting at Layer 1 and Layer 3.
