Summary of role and team::
We are looking for a Junior Scientist ( Temporary position ) to join our R&D department, which will be part of the Cells & Media Development team. As a Junior Scientist, you will design, run, and analyze experiments and culture Believer’s cell lines to further improve our processes and products. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and an eagerness to advance the field of cultured meat. This is a 90% lab-based (hands-on), on-site, position.
Your day-to-day:
As a Junior Scientist, you will –
* Design and execute biological research experiments and data analysis in collaboration with other research assistants and scientists.
* Perform routine cell culture lab work: seeding and passaging cell cultures, cell counting, metabolite analysis.
* Routinely prepare custom-made growth media preparation.
* Collect data and document it.
* Results analysis and presentation according to project goals and timeline.
The Ideal candidate:
Must-Have:
* MSc degree in Life Sciences with at least 2 years of industry experience or PhD in Life Sciences or similar fields.
* Expertise in metabolism and/or cell differentiation processes.
* Experience with tissue/cell culture and aseptic techniques.
* Experience with mammalian/animal cell culture, including cell counting.
* Highly motivated individual.
* Passion and a good teamworking attitude, independent thinking, great interpersonal relationships.
* Fast learner, multitasker, well organized with the ability to keep accurate records with maximum attention to details.
* Ability to work in a dynamic and fast changing environment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Critical thinking and problem-solving mind.
