In this role you will work closely with Vast R&D worldwide on current and next-generation hardware compute and storage platforms. This includes x86 servers, NVMe SSDs and SmartNIC acceleration.
Principal Duties:
Participating in the design, bring-up and qualification of new leading-edge hardware technologies and platforms.
Day-to-day involvement with a global hardware and software team to improve hardware quality and scalability.
Working with hardware suppliers on debugging and solving hardware and software/firmware issues to get to root cause.
Required Skills and Experience
Self-motivated, ability to work on own initiative.
Experience in developing and/or debugging of hardware platforms.
System-level understanding and ability to do root cause analysis of hardware, firmware, OS and network problems.
Hands-on design or detailed debug experience with 2 or more of the following: x86 servers, BMC, PCIe, SSDs, SmartNICs, network switches.
Familiarity with scripting languages to automate testing and qualification.
Bachelor/Master degree in Electronic Engineering or related field.
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of Linux internals and debugging.
Knowledge of python scripting language.
Familiarity with test automation frameworks (Jenkins etc).
Knowledge of PCIe and NVMe standards and debugging issues with PCIe analyzer.
Knowledge of server management technologies such as UEFI, IPMI & Redfish.
Familiarity with SmartNICs and ARM processors.
Knowledge of networking, including RDMA, RoCE, IB.
