The Russel Berrie Galilee Diabetes SPHERE is a major initiative in northern Israel and aims to lower diabetes and obesity and its complications in the region. Coordinated by a team at Bar Ilan University, SPHERE works with a variety of partners including HMOs, hospitals, municipalities, government agencies and NGOs.
SPHERE is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Resource Developer / Grant writer to join our team. The ideal candidate loves to work in a dynamic environment with a variety of people. The candidate will have a passion for writing and an appetite to present SPHERE, its partners and its various projects to organizations inside and outside of Israel. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, writing and submitting proposals to secure funding for our projects from Israeli, European and other funding programmes. The candidate will also contribute to SPHEREs work with Bar Ilans Resource Development team.

Job description:
Lead or support others to lead he preparation and writing of scientific grant proposals for including:
– Identify grants/calls for proposals that match SPHEREs interests/objectives
– (Assist in) developing proposals according to the appropriate guidelines
– Overseeing preparation of grant proposals, including building the consortium (where appropriate)
– (Assisting with the) writing and editing of the proposal
– Communicating with consortium partners if applicable
– Conducting a final review of proposals and ensuring timely submission
– Regular reporting to SPHEREs management team
The role requires partial presence in SPHEREs offices in Safed.
Requirements:
Education/Experience/Language requirements:
– Academic degree (PhD is an advantage)
– Ability to comprehend various academic fields including public health, biomedical research (diabetes, obesity), implementation science, clinical trials etc.
– Knowledge and experience in writing and editing scientific grants – mandatory
– Familiarity with the European Union research funding framework is a distinct advantage
– Competence in coordinating and preparing large funding applications
– Knowledge and experience working with relevant computer software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMS, Zoom)
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Excellent teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with researchers in multidisciplinary and international environments
– Ability to plan your own work, prioritize and have good stress tolerance
– English – mother tongue
– Hebrew – high level
