Key Responsibilities:
Vision, Strategy and Technical Leadership:
Develop a clear vision for technology within company.
Drive innovation, explore emerging trends, evaluate relevant technologies for the entire Group or specific Companies.
Align technology strategies with overall business objectives.
Collaborate with VP Business Development on identifying breakthrough technologies (Start-Ups) and escort their R&D development.
Collaboration and Communication:
Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing among the Group.
Work closely with Universities, Suppliers, Customers, Entrepreneurs, scouting for new Technologies.
Bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
R&D Resource Allocation:
Supervise resource allocation at Group and Companies level.
Align with GMs R&D priorities, support local teams and monitor progress.
Improve Product Development Processes and Procedures.
Deliver an increased ratio of New Products in the Group and Companies Portfolio.
Talent Development:
Build and lead a high-performing Community of Technologists within the company Group Companies.
Encourage a forward-thinking mindset.
Support the Companies attracting top Talent and nurture professional and career growth.
Sustainability and Environmental Impact:
Explore eco-friendly technologies, address sustainability challenges and embed relevant projects in the R&D Agenda at Group and Companies level.

Requirements:
– An advanced degree in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or similar.
– Superior interpersonal and collaborative skills to navigate a matrixed organization and cultivate external partnerships.
– Leadership experience in managing diverse teams.
– Adeptness in overseeing projects from their genesis through to successful commercial realization.
– Relevant Business experience (running a Start-up, Commercial experience, etc) is an advantage.
– Experience in rising Funds and Grants, from Local or Global Institutes, Governments, etc.
Required Skills and Capabilities:
– Expert-level knowledge in polymers, additives, and compounds, with a demonstrated ability to drive innovation.
– Exceptional analytical capabilities for technology assessment and potential integration into the business strategy.
– A comprehensive business and technological outlook that merges advanced material science with strategic product innovation.
– A proven track record in identifying and leveraging nascent technologies and start-up opportunities in alignment with corporate objectives.
– Leadership capable of steering the entire innovation lifecycle of disruptive Technologies from conceptualization through to market assimilation across the Organization.
