What am I going to do?
Analyze, monitor, and report on cloud usage and expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities, improving efficiency, and leading the development and maturation of the FinOps framework.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to develop and implement cloud cost optimization strategies, ensuring alignment between technical activities and financial objectives.
Implement and maintain financial governance and controls across cloud platforms, utilizing automation for cost trend optimization, anomaly detection, and accurate forecasting.
Work closely with procurement and vendors to manage cloud costs, ensuring effective negotiation and alignment with organizational financial goals.
Educate and train teams on FinOps best practices, promoting financial accountability and fostering collaboration across departments.
Lead change management initiatives within cloud or IT transformations, guiding teams and influencing best practices in cloud financial management.
Minimum 2 years as a FinOps Engineer or in a similar role.
Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS essential, Azure and GCP a plus) and financial principles.
Proficiency in Python and SQL; relevant certifications preferred.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with experience in change management and cross-departmental collaboration.
