The opportunity
We are seeking a Research Assistant with 2 years prior laboratory experience and a ‘can-do attitude’ to join TEVA’s growing speciality R&D antibody discovery program in Sydney, Australia. In this role, you will be developing therapeutic antibodies in state-of-the-art facilities within the Immunology portfolio.
As part of the Immunology pre-clinical pharmacology team, you would be involved in providing pre-clinical in vitro pharmacology data that supports all stages of a preclinical drug development package. This will involve working collaboratively across multi-functional teams including antibody lead generation and protein sciences to support: lead selection; early-stage proof of concept studies; high quality pre-clinical in vitro and ex vivo pharmacology, including mechanism of action, pharmacokinetics and biomarker evaluation.
This is a permanent, hands-on laboratory-based role, suiting a candidate with a technical mindset and an interest in therapeutic antibody R&D. Specifically the activities will include conducting experiments to support functional characterisation and selection of therapeutic antibodies.
How you’ll spend your day
Perform and develop biological assays to inform on lead selection of therapeutic antibodies, including determination of potency, and characterisation of mechanism of action.
Research, trouble-shoot and optimise fit for purpose immunoassays, including biomarker, and pharmacokinetic assays.
General tissue culture and maintenance of mammalian cell lines.
Summarize and presentation of data (e.g. electronic lab notebook, presentations, and reports).
Represent the Discovery Biology team with internal & external stakeholders, as required.
Provide general research/laboratory support including maintenance of laboratory reagents, ordering consumables and interacting with suppliers.
