Required DevOps Engineer (Cortex Research)
Your Career:
As a Staff DevOps Engineer supporting our Research Group, you will lead all DevOps and infrastructure initiatives that empower our researchers to move quickly, securely, and reliably. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the groups cloud environments, ensuring scalability, stability, and performance across a wide range of experimental and production workloads.
Youll serve as the primary point of contact between the Research Group and other critical stakeholdersincluding Security, Networking, Compliance, and Platform teamsensuring that research projects align with organizational standards while still enabling innovation at a rapid pace.
Your Impact:
Own and evolve the Research Groups infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, enabling reproducible, automated, and scalable experimentation
Partner with security and compliance teams to enforce best practices around data governance, access controls, and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with networking and platform engineers to integrate research workloads into the broader company ecosystem
Mentor engineers and researchers on DevOps best practices, helping to instill a culture of operational excellence in the research domain
Define and implement standards for infrastructure-as-code, observability, monitoring, and resource optimization tailored to research use cases
Balance technical depth with cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements:
3+ years of experience supporting systems in cloud environments
Strong hands-on experience with Linux systems and networking fundamentals
Solid experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
Hands-on experience running Kubernetes workloads
Expertise with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code principles
Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) to build automation and tooling
Experience leading cross-team projects
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Experience with GCP Composer/Apache AirFlow – advantage.
