The Director of Finance, Accounting and Revenues is a critical leadership role, reporting directly to the Vice President (VP) of Finance. As a key member of the global finance leadership team, this role oversees the financial reporting process, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, and drives financial performance across the organization. The ideal candidate will deeply understand accounting principles, financial reporting and revenue recognition, and will have a proven track record in a public company environment, particularly one listed on NASDAQ.
What are some of the things you do on a day-to-day basis?
Financial Reporting:
Oversee the end-to-end financial reporting process, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial statements under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Manage the preparation and submission of quarterly and annual reports (10-Q, 10-K) to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process, addressing any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of internal financial reporting, providing detailed insights and analysis to support decision-making at the executive level.
Revenue and TAC Management:
Take ownership of the companys revenue recognition process, ensuring that all revenue streams are accurately accounted for in accordance with the latest accounting standards (ASC 606).
Work closely with the commercial departments to ensure alignment between financial reporting and business operations, providing guidance on revenue forecasting and budgeting.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for revenue recognition, ensuring consistency and transparency across the organization.
Analyze revenue trends and variances, identifying key drivers and providing recommendations for optimizing revenue performance.
Accounting Policy and Transaction Support:
Lead the development and maintenance of the companys accounting policies, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest standards and best practices.
Provide expert guidance on the accounting implications of complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic initiatives.
Collaborate with legal, tax and treasury teams to assess and mitigate financial risks associated with business transactions.
Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with internal controls and corporate governance standards.
Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance and accounting, with a significant portion in a public company environment.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and revenue recognition standards.
Proven experience in managing financial reporting for a NASDAQ-listed company.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
